Job Description

 

We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional with considerable knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of marketing, communication and member recruitment, retention, and renewal. The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for digital advertising campaigns, e-blasts and journeys, outbound telemarketing, as well as paid and organic social media outreach.  He/She will help identify member segments and other key, strategic initiatives. Ideally, the candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and execute CalCPA renewal, recruitment, on-boarding and retention processes, and outreach
  • Analyze campaign success, providing daily dashboards to marketing communications and executive teams
  • Creation of automated email journeys
  • Manage inbound and outbound membership marketing
  • Identify and execute new recruitment and retention strategies related to key member/firm/industry/technical segments, including in-person outreach, targeted collateral/resources, and a positive online user experience
  • Determine ROI and develop a tracking mechanism for the effectiveness of email campaigns and make changes and/or enhancement recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years creating and executing successful marketing communication campaigns
  • Proven track-record of conducting analysis of marketing campaigns and optimizing efforts based on findings
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for general business, print, and digital marketing communications
  • Knowledge of single-variant, A/B testing
  • Experience creating journeys within marketing automation a platform (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of the accounting profession and/or membership associations (preferred)
  • Self-starter with experience working in a location geographically distant from direct supervisor
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team
  • Must have a strong background in social networking applications and demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, as well as ability to work in a database environment
  • Demonstrated organizational, communications and critical thinking skills
  • A demonstrated understanding of budget management, monitoring, and projection
  • Must be able to travel at various times during the year for one to two-day meetings
